Jason and Nick were so professional and knowledgeable. We appreciated the time they took to review our current roof and talk to us about our options for a new roof. If you are looking for a new roof, Great Lakes is the way to go no doubt about it! They also don't just do roofs. They offer windows and siding as well! You will not be disappointed!

They did a fantastic job on my new roof. It looks amazing. Everyone kept me informed through the whole process from the very beginning. They are very thorough and were wonderful to work with. The installers were very conscientious and went around my house several times to make sure everything was picked up. Honest review - Didn't have the best experience with Great Lakes. The rep that came out to give us a quote to redo our roof was a little long winded and a little pushy but we liked the product and he did a good job inspecting. The price was a little high but we felt like it was worth it. When it came to the install it was frustrating. Lack of communication and a van full of people who did not speak English got out and wandered around our yard. Nothing at all against anyone but just a heads up would have been nice. We have friends that speak Spanish that would have come over to help translate some questions we had since there was very little communication between the rep and the install. There were some other issues with incompatibility with our gutters that we were told wouldn't be a problem but the owner called us and did their best to resolve them. Our gutters are still a problem in the front (like a waterfall coming off the roof rather than going into the gutters) but the roof does look very nice. Honestly, I don't think I'd go this route again as I feel like what we're paying for is more than what I would go through again with the hassle we did. Friends of ours ask about our roof and my answer to them is "we're not ready to talk about that experience yet".

We are very pleased with our new roof installed by Great Lakes Home Remodeling. The installers were very conscientious in replacing portions of the deck that had rotted away and making sure areas around the chimney and vents were water tight. They also made sure everything was cleaned up completely. Very professionally done.

We had four windows replaced. Installation had to be delayed due to the heat, but once the weather cooperated it was quick and painless. You don't realize how dirty your old windows are until you're looking out through brand new ones!

Great Lakes Home Remodeling did a wonderful job on our siding. Materials arrived and the work was completed professionally. The crew was exceptional, professional and respectful. My criticism on the actual work is minimal and, I feel, an oversight based on the rest of the work that was completed. What I discovered, after a heavy rainfall, the gutter was not fastened to the house. As it was raining the gutter had bent away from the house due to the weight of the water. However, I called about this matter and was assured it would be remedied. My other critique is on the initial sales encounter. It was informative, but way too long. I was curious about replacing the siding and wanted an estimate. The representative was at our house for over three hours. I feel people should be informed of the length, and decide to proceed or not. Additionally, the follow up on the completed job did not happen, it was initiated when I called regarding the gutter. I feel within a few days a representative from the company should come out and ask if the work met our expectations and look over the work because they would be knowledgable on the workmanship and should be the final say going over the work with the residents of the home. Again, my wife and I love the new siding, our home looks incredible - and I recommend Great Lakes Home Remodeling.

We had a great experience with Eric! We have two little kids, so I greatly appreciated that the first thing he did was take his shoes off. He spent two hours with us reviewing the different types of windows, providing examples for us to see, and answering all our questions. He was very knowledgeable, thorough, and personable. We would highly recommend calling to speak with Eric if you need windows! We had a great experience and they did a great job putting in our windows! They completed all 7 of our windows in 1 day. They were respectful and put shoe covers on, cleaned up after themselves, and even closed the vents by the windows when they were installing them so the air didn’t go right out the window. We were very impressed and we love our new windows!

The workers came out and replaced my 2 windows and then the next day different work came and replaced my garage roof. Workers and Eric and Adam were all great!! I would highly recommend them!!

From beginning to end, this was a stress free project. Great Lakes is Super on their communications and coordinating the scheduling of different aspects of the job, delivery of materials and dumpster and having a work crew here when they said they would. The crew was very knowledgeable in doing this kind of job and at the end, the clean up was great. Everything was picked up and one person went over the ground with a large magnet and picked up any stray naisl that had fallen. Also, they went all around with a leaf blower and clean off any saw dust on the porches, sidewalks and garage floor, etc. The entire installation part was completely done in a single day. That includes the tear off of the old roof, installation of the new and clean up. I have nothing but the very highest regards for this company and the people that I dealt with and would recommend them to anyone. Russ

I am giving a thorough and honest review, so it is going to be long. TLDR: Unprofessional crew, poor communication, but great final product. Jason came out to give us our quote and walk us through the entire process. He was very thorough, answered all our questions without being condescending, and was very honest about what we needed and did not need. While Great Lakes was not the best price quote we received, Jason sold us on the professional experience we could expect. He communicated well with us through the contract process, and even came through at the end with some mailing snafus. Our installation experience was a nightmare. The team that showed up was unprofessional in appearance, on the roof with their underclothes showing for my entire neighborhood. There was zero communication, from the time they got there until they were done, and the “project manager” was not on site. The 2 crew members who worked on the roof all day, with no transportation left for them, were waiting to be picked up until well past 10:00 p.m. There was a major incident involving the electricity that was never brought to our attention, and we didn’t find out until we tried to turn our lights on that evening. The final straw, so to speak, was that they left without doing clean up. The driveway, yard, roof and gutters were littered with cigarette butts and nails. This was not anywhere near the professional experience we were promised. Alix, the Administrative Assistance, really was the saving grace for this project. As soon I called to speak to her about my concerns and the electricity issue, she was on top of it. She communicated with me clearly and in a timely manner, and when it was time to move the concerns up, she did not hesitate. Her attention and genuine concern for what was happening is, I believe, what led to the company quickly reaching out to me. Ultimately, Mark, the Director of Installation, worked with us to make things right. He came directly to the house after our first conversation, saw the concerns firsthand, communicated effectively, and offered additional ways to fix some mistakes. He worked with us to find a reputable electrician, made multiple visits to the house to check the progress, and even came and did a nail clean up himself. While he is new to the position, he showed us why he was added to their team. I will say, our roof, and the soffit and fascia work that was done, look great. The leaks have been fixed, gutters sit as they should, and we are very pleased with the final product. We just really, really wish the experience would have been the professional one we were expecting.

Great Lakes Home Remodeling did a terrific job siding our home and making it look like new. Our initial contact was with their salesman, Nick, who responded quickly to our inquiry and came out to our home within a couple of days. He was friendly and professional, and while his sales pitch was a bit more high pressure than we care for, we are glad that we went with the company and are very pleased with the work. What quickly earned our trust was the friendliness and attentiveness of the office staff and the leadership and project oversight from Adam. Before the job even began, Adam came out to look over the house with the details he had received from Nick and he immediately noticed an error that we had not caught when we signed the contract. Nick had only included the soffit and fascia for the front of the house and not for the entire house as we had discussed. Thankfully, the company agreed to cover the additional cost involved because of this error. When the installation crew arrived, they were always here early, stayed late, were courteous and professional, worked very hard, and cleaned up the property at the end of each day. There was a bit of a language barrier but we managed to communicate any questions or comments that we had. We really grew fond of the workers over the eight days that they were here. Adam was always available via phone or text for any questions or concerns that we had and he came out to the property whenever necessary. For us, Adam is the standout of the company. We can say with confidence that we highly recommend Great Lakes for your home remodeling projects. We have received many compliments and we are loving the look of our "new house".

Great Lakes Home Remodeling did a wonderful job with our exterior remodel. We are very pleased. The project included replacing windows and all new siding. Eric helped us select the product and understood what we were looking for in color, texture and finish details for the siding. Because we wanted a combination of Dutchlap, Board and Batten and Shake shingles, it was a bit more complicated. He was very patient with our many questions. He took care to fully explain the different aspects and features of the siding and windows. Adam oversaw the timing and execution of the project. He was always available to answer our questions and made sure that the project started and completed as scheduled. He did a great job installing our windows. He is a master of keeping things moving forward. The siding installation team was very detailed oriented. They did a beautiful job of installing all of the siding, window trim, soffit and fascia. They are a hard working crew and made sure to complete all of the clean up, even though it was late and getting quite dark as they finished. We are very happy with the results and recommend you consider Great Lakes for your next project.

We just met with Matt and Joe from Great Lakes. Though they were a bit late for our appointment , when they arrived they were friendly, professional, and informative. We even shared some laughs. We have been wanting our house sided for years and have had multiple companies give estimates with similar options and prices. We have decided to go with them as it seemed to be the best deal and we liked the idea of the completion certificate. I will give final review and photo upon completion. Update during installation: Shortly after meeting with salesmen and making arrangements, Adam the contactor came to the house to do a walk around with us and finalize the plans for siding our home. He was on time, friendly, and pretty informative. When discussing our color choice, we were told by salesman that white trim would cost extra (white trim was my preference) but Adam said it wouldn't cost more so we were thrilled with that news. I have learned in this process that trim is different than j channel, so some of the areas I expected to be white are matching grey. We also originally were informed that to do our soffit and fascia would add a lot to our cost, we decided to leave that alone and eventually paint. However our top around our garage needed replaced wood and we really wanted it wrapped so that added an additional chunk of change to our total. We were originally told that our house project would be started in 6-8 weeks but they didn't start until closer to 10 weeks, but we did receive two phone calls from great lakes during the wait one to let us know that the materials ordered hadn't arrived yet and the second call to keep communication open and ask if we had any questions. We were told our entire house should take 3-4 days to complete. I think it's going to take a bit longer as we have an old, larger house. The crew started this weekend and they have been working hard from nearly 8am-9pm. They are making good progress and we are excited to see end results. The crew is friendly and professional but there is a bit of a language barrier, however we have contacted the contractor Adam who replies very quickly. So far, so good. I'll definitely post final pics upon completion. Our house was completed. It took exactly one week Saturday to Saturday (had a rain day). The crew did a nice job. They even did a couple small details on front and around porch that contractor originally said they couldn't. We still have to have our soffit and fascia painted, as well as a couple small areas around porch and under two windows and underside of garage that was discussed beforehand. Only snafu was crew accidentally broke our fiberoptic internet line which we were told great lakes would take care of. Crew did a nice job of cleaning up afterwards as well. Overall we are happy with Great Lakes. Looks like a new house and staff was pretty easy to work with.

Joe and Jason arrived ready to assess our roof, and gave us a down-to-the-penny quote on each roofing option available. Within a few hours, we knew exactly what we wanted (we chose a metal roof), and the structure and construction of it was explained in detail. My brother recommended Great Lakes Home Remodeling to us, and I'm glad he did! Well done, Joe and Jason!

Awesome company to work with! The guy that came to my house was so informative and answered every question I had. Then they called and kept in touch afterwards every step of the way. They were quick and thorough and I almost didn't realize they had come to replace the roof they got it done so quick and the clean up was SPOTLESS! The representative, Jason Hainer came to our home on time. His presentation was great. He covered all the information about the company thoroughly. I was very pleased about his explanation about the types of roofs from the past and the roofs of today. The explanations were easy to understand. At no time did I feel pushed into making a rushed decision. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and the price of replacing the roof was very reasonable. In the end, I felt very comfortable in choosing this company to replace my roof.

We met this morning with Jason H. from Great Lakes Home Remodeling, and I would have to say, it was an altogether great experience. His presentation was thorough, direct, and easy to understand. The roofing process was broken down into buildup modules that left no room for gotchas. And, with Jason having all of the necessary material samples to support and demonstrate the process, it was easy to see how the roof would 'bond' and come together to protect our home!

We had Jason from GL present your product and roofing options yesterday. He was very knowledgeable about the product and explained everything in detail. A few days ago, a young man whose name I think is Christopher visited us. He spoke kindly and succinctly & sold us on looking at your firm regarding our roofing needs. On Tuesday, February 20, we met Obadiah & Jason who totally sold us on the product… the roofing system you install…and we began the journey with Great Lakes toward our new and last ever roof!

I sat down for a consultation this afternoon with Obadiah and Adam. I appreciate them taking their time to explain everything to me, listen to me, and for being so thorough. Even though I am not able to have the work done right now, they were kind and understanding. I appreciate their expertise, professionalism, and the willingness to work with me. I will definitely keep Great Lake Remodeling in mind for the future.

Appointments arrived reasonably on time. Sales staff was very knowledgeable of the product (Bryce). The installers were easy to work with and communicated with us throughout the process (Shane and team). Job took a little longer than anticipated, however, given the winter weather conditions they were working in, they did amazing. The only drawback we had is we would have liked to had block windows in the basement, however, they are not available with the manufacturer at this time. Received a call the day after install to confirm we were happy and if we had any questions (Stephanie). Over all, good process and price is right. Communication was not the best when it came down to it. They did call me to let me know that they were planning to come out between the 23rd and 24th they did not come out to the 25th. I never got a call letting me know that they were coming out or that somebody would be out in the morning. I had several guys come out. The project leader never introduced himself they never let me know that they were for Great Lakes at all they kind of just started working on my roof. The vans didn't have any indications that they were from Great Lakes and it's not like they were uniforms to say that they were from great lakes. So we did not know. The roof did get done and everything seems to be good with the roof but when it comes to communication they weren't the best everything else was great and everything else went smoothly but communication was awful UPDATE When it comes to Great Lakes after talking to I believe her name was Stephanie. I appreciate them as a company even more and here is why that is as a company they could have just let what they read when it came to a review go. But Stephanie actually sat there and talked to me she actually was very upset and we actually talked and communicated about everything that had happened. She even answered a lot of my questions and explain to me how very sorry she was for what had happened. For me this was my first time getting a new roof and the experience wasn't the best i can honestly say after talking to her she made my worries my fears and my concerns go away. she apologized and made me feel as if my voice was heard This is very important as a customer. i Felt heard and I felt acknowledge and all my worries and concerns were gone because she took the time to explain everything to me. she explained what they used the wood for on my roof to what would happen if I got a leak in my roof. She went over everything and was very understanding I was on the phone with her for about an hour and she was the most loveliest person to talk to and the most understanding person to talk to. And she treated me like a person and I can appreciate that. Because the company has somebody that is willing to talk to you and communicate with you regardless if it's their fault Or not. For me that experience made me happy and made me realize that the company really listened to their customers and I appreciate that. So in the future if I need anything else done I will definitely come back to Great Lakes

I had cheap home depot looking windows installed when I bought my house and my first gas bill went down $100! The windows look amazing and they were quick to install. One had a crack from transport,but they got it replaced within the week. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

EDIT:We had all new windows and gutters replaced with Great lakes. Unfortunately, the salesman Eric told us things we wanted that could be done that somehow did not end up in the contract even though it was agreed upon. (He no longer works for them) The company has explained to me what they think happened, and they apologize for the miscommunication and refunded 425$ towards windows. (Doug said refund on the phone) Although the Windows were not completed as initially discussed, they do look nice, and Adam was quick with the installation although it took them 11 weeks before they started, we were told 3-6, weeks initially. (We understood it may be longer I'm just stating what was said.) Edit:The company came back out and added on the hinges to the gutters that we had wanted done previously and we are happy with that. I received an email today about changing how I have worded my review. They already had me change it one time. What is the point of a review if it's not going to be in my own words about the experience?? I do appreciate Melissa for trying to assist with some solutions, however, the windows and gutters are installed fine but the communication with the initial sales man and a few others in the company made the overall experience frustrating and challenging. Therefore I will not use them again for a project. Worried for the future if we ever need something replaced under warranty and having to deal with them again. I will not be changing my review again as this is my words and experience. Maybe your experience will be better who knows? I can't figure out how to add a photo.

The team came out and got right to work installing the siding. Working back to front, they diligently measured, cut, and installed every piece in place. They removed the old house lights and installed a couple of the new ones. They professionally cleaned their work area at days end. The team ran short of siding, but quickly communicated that they ordered more and returned "back in business" to make sure the job was completed thoroughly. Job well done!

The rep visited my home for a new metal roof quote was punctual, personable, and easy to communicate with. He measured the roof and provided a fair estimate. While we've postponed the project for now, our admiration for this company remains.

1st update (final update at bottom important) Todd from Great Lakes came out to give a free estimate. Not only was he very thorough he was also very professional. I’ve been in the house for two years now and was dreading the process. I’ve known I needed a new roof and have been putting it off and honestly thought I was going to turn them down and put it off even more, but after talking with Todd I decided to go through with the process. Update number 2 After signing the contract I had a lot of questions and concerns. I talked with several people and we were able to come to a solution that made me feel comfortable and ready to move forward with the install. So far they have been great to work with all around. Update number 3 (most important one) Overall it was a bit pricey I expected a lot more than what I got. The salesmen are really good at what they do and are nice guys. I questioned the price and it escalated higher up the chain. Originally when I talked to a superior it felt like an I’m the boss attitude. After a couple days they got back to me and the attitude was much better. I originally asked for an itemized receipt to see exactly what I was paying for and where my money was going but was told it wasn’t possible. Once supplies got here I added up material cost and it ended up being 5-6k. Because they are gaf certified it’s possible the materials could have been cheaper with some sort of discount not sure though. That doesn’t include any other fees like permits, delivery, or dumpster. There was some leftover supplies but none was left behind all taken by subcontractor. They ended up dropping the price even more. I’m contracted not to talk about price but for what was considered a promotion didn’t seem like much of a discount. They throw around the gaf master elite certification a lot but just like anyone else they sub contract so it might be hit or miss who they send out. The group I got didn’t do a terrible job but there were a couple imperfections. The biggest issue with the installers was the language barrier. I couldn’t really communicate with them since they had heavy accents. For the most part they did a good job cleaning up but I still found multiple nails after the sweep through they did with the magnet. They also left crumbs from their lunch in my driveway. As far as Great Lakes go I give them a 3.9-4.0. I would consider using them again for other projects. The specific subcontractors that were out I give them a 3.5 they were pretty average. Not what I would consider master elite. In the end the job was done and I got a new roof like I needed. I can’t stress enough to make sure you get multiple quotes and do your research. This was the most honest and upfront I could be. Hopefully this review is labeled the most useful. It’s hard to decipher good and bad when you have 1/5 star.

This company was a bit pricey but well worth it. Professional and answered all of my questions. Work was done in one day. Clean and tidy. Took a few days for the company they were working with to take the trash back but not a big deal. Overall I would highly recommend this company.

Had a meeting with Josh and Eric today, it went great! They were on time and professional and very knowledgeable. I’m excited to be getting a metal roof in 6 weeks or so………..stay tuned! Update new metal roof installed…..the crew busted it out in approximately 10 hours…..I’m thrilled. It looks amazing now I’m waiting for some rain to check it’s performance….thank you Great Lakes!

I want to start this review by saying thank you to the entire team at GLHR! They have been very attentive and the experience has been amazing! It only took the team 4 working days to give me the roof of my dreams on my dream home. They also went above and beyond by giving me the supplies to build a porch cover with matching roof sheets. I'm quite honored to be a customer of such an attentive company. I only had one issue with a window and they came out the next day and the problem was solved same day. They take very good care of their customers and the high quality materials not only look amazing but will last a life time. Thank you to GLHR with all essence of my being.

We recently had Great Lakes inspect our roof and they then installed a new roof and new roof venting. They worked with us to accommodate our needs within the budget we had, and at all meetings showed up in a timely manner. The staff was very responsive to any of our requests, and always returned calls or messages promptly. They used high quality materials and have an excellent warranty on the work. The installers were respectful of our property, and did a great job of cleaning up the yard before they left. We are very happy with the appearance of the roof and would use this company for future house repairs.

From salesmen, to installation and clean up, I can not say enough about this company! First, our salesmen spent a tremendous amount of time explaining the product and answering all of our questions and concerns. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests, work with us on pricing and even pointed out that we would need to contact our gutter installers to remove gutters for roof install or we could lose our warranty on our gutter system....something that had never crossed our mind!! The installation crews were always promptly on time and there was a foremen present every day, several times throughout the day, to check the progress and answer any questions or concerns we had. The crews worked into the evening hours to complete the job in a timely manner and cleaned up their work area daily. When the job was completed they walked the perimeter to insure area was clean and free of any metals, nails etc. I can not say enough about our experience with this company and the professional manner with which we were treated....and the warranty is phenomenal!!

We called on Thursday in the morning and the team communicated with us very well and even expedited the scheduling process to accommodate our off shift schedules for work. They were able to schedule us for a next day quote and were all very friendly and responsive. Eric showed up on time and was highly professional during the entire encounter. Eric was able to provide a quote to replace the entire exterior of our shed and accent exterior wall on our home. Eric was highly informative and related on a personal level to help us confirm that Great Lakes Home Remodeling was our best option quality wise and with a 50 year transferable warranty on all work, financially, and best fit for our needs. When it came time to replace our roof, we contacted Great Lakes Home Remodeling. We really saw the value in replacing our shingled roof with metal as we are hoping to stay in our home for many years to come. We love the look of it and are happy with knowing there is a 50 year guarantee. Before they began the work, they did a thorough inspection and saw that there were some areas that needed repair before replacing the roof. They did the work that was needed to make sure everything was solid. It was reassuring to know before they left our home, they took time to make sure everything looked great and we were satisfied.

Stop and do your research before using this company!!! What our salesmen sold us on, verses what was installed were two completely different things. The labor crew showed up in an unmarked truck and trailer. And were unable to communicate with us, do to not being able to speak or understand English. They promised new material for our 3 sky lights and then we were told “they do not do that” after my husband inspected it. Came home to a complete mess, not only outside the house but inside the house also. The workers damaged the drywall, around one of the skylights, damaged our brand new gutters and low nailed a shingle, causing exposed nails then caulked over it. For a “high end job” we received a low end product. After speaking with the install manager, he made us feel like we were in the wrong. The salesmen made us promises that the install manger couldn’t reproduce. The repaired drywall by our skylight looks absolutely horrible, they left nails in our bedroom. If you have previously used them please inspect your roof/project. We are very unhappy with the quality of work and the way things were handled. Do not use this company for any of your home projects.

I had an estimate done for replacing some of my windows. Salesman was very professional and gave advice of which ones I really needed done. He explained things to where I really didn't need to ask any questions. Was very thorough in explaining how things work. Will rate again once the work is completed.

GLHR is a young company that has great products and a great warranty. But with any young company, there are growing pains. I unfortunately experienced some of those growing pains. But this company would not let any issues go unremedied. From the highest level down, my issues were taken very seriously and resolved. A testament to their word and warranty. I would like to thank everyone from GLHR who took action on my behalf to give me a beautiful new roof.

Great Lakes Home Remodeling was Great! I called and the next day I met with the sales guy. I knew I needed a new roof (it had been leaking for a whille) So he measured, took pictures and gave me a quote. The price for metal was lower than I thought it would be. So I figured, what the heck. Let's go for metal! Once the appointment was scheduled they stayed in touch every step of the way. They got a dumpstwr the day before and They put it right where I wanted it. So they tore off the old roof and now I have a metal roof. What more can I say? The roof installers cleaned up and were easy to work with. to sum up my experience with Great lakes - THey are great people and now I have a Great Metal Roof!

I guess never say NEVER - i bought into the metal roof craze! Yes it was not what i was planning but it was hard not to say yes when faced with the cost and value consideration. Thank you Great Lakes for working with me to make my home valuable again - the roof was started and finished in a day which floored my neighborhood as we are a real family on my street - you would have thought I was on a makeover show! I think we are going to do the windows next since this was so easy and affordable!
