I am Dessie Sliekers, owner and sole designer at Slick Designs, I suppose you want to know a little bit about me? Well, I attended Iowa State University and graduated from their CIDA accredited interior design program with a Bachelor of FIne Arts (BFA) in 2007. After graduation I went on to work as a design intern with an office furniture distributor before heading on to an architectural firm. In 2010 I studied, took a lengthy exam and attained my NCIDQ certification. My professional career includes work in various fields of design: residential, office design, commercial, higher education, hospitality and healthcare to name a few. In 2012, I tossed my concerns into the wind and started my own design consultation business. I have thoroughly enjoyed being my own boss and meeting new clients. I am constantly surprised and excited by the new opportunities life brings me. Those are the highlights for now, but I know that more will pop up.
